Head coach sought pay rise, threatened FIFA WC boycott: Senegal football chief

Senegal Football Federation president Abdoulaye Fall revealed head coach Pape Thiaw demanded a salary increase before FIFA World Cup 2026 and threatened not to travel if his demand was not met. Fall alleged Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye convinced him to travel. Thiaw refused to sit in dugout until his contract was signed before Senegal's match against Norway, he added.
