The weather department has issued a heat wave alert for the next two days in central Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha regions. "A four-five degree rise above normal levels has been recorded in day temperatures," India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said. IMD estimates that the temperature will increase by 2°C during the day over the weekend.
