Heatwaves directly linked to chronic kidney disease: Study
A study published in BMC Nephrology suggested a link between heatwaves and chronic kidney disease (CKD). Researchers analysed data from 6,718 adults aged 45 years and older during the follow-up period from 2011 to 2015 and found that higher intensity and prolonged duration of heatwaves were associated with an increased likelihood of developing CKD.
