Heavy rain lashes Srinagar, Manali, other parts of North India

Heavy rain hit J&K's Srinagar, Himachal Pradesh's Manali, and other parts of North India, officials said. Northwest India recorded 265 mm of rainfall in August, the highest since 2001 and the 13th highest since 1901, as per IMD. In Delhi, flood alerts have been issued as the Yamuna crossed the danger mark following water release from Hathnikund Barrage in Haryana.
