Heavy rainfall warning issued for Ahmedabad & central Gujarat till Aug 2

India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued red and orange alerts forecasting extremely heavy rain, thunderstorms and lightning in central Gujarat districts of Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and other regions till August 2. Schools and colleges in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Anand and Kheda will be closed on Friday (July 31). District administrations have invoked emergency powers for safety measures.
