Heavy rains lash Mumbai, BMC urges residents to stay indoors

Heavy overnight rains lashed Mumbai and neighbouring regions. Several areas recorded more than 200 mm of rainfall, while a few areas saw 300 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. The rains triggered widespread waterlogging, traffic disruptions and road closures across the city. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) urged residents to remain indoors and step out only if necessary.
