Help persuade Iran to give up its nuclear programme: US asks Qatar

US President Donald Trump has urged Qatar to persuade Iranian leadership in reaching an agreement with the US to give up its rapidly advancing nuclear programme. Over the years, Qatar played the role of intermediary between US and Iran and its proxies. US and Iran brokered a nuclear deal in 2015 but it was scrapped during the first Trump administration.
