High blood pressure redefined as 130 from 140 in US

High blood pressure has been redefined after 14 years by the American Heart Association, which said the disease should be treated sooner, when it reaches 130/80 mm Hg, not the previous limit of 140/90. Known as a "silent killer", high BP accounts for the second largest number of preventable heart disease and stroke deaths, after smoking, AHA said.
