Hijab is for religious scholars to decide: Congress on 'Smash Patriarchy' campaign criticism

After BJP criticised 'Smash Patriarchy' campaign over Rahul Gandhi's remarks on Manusmriti, Congress' Pawan Khera said whether hijab is essential to Islam is for religious scholars to decide. He said Congress supports women's bodily autonomy and agency, adding that every woman, regardless of caste, class or religion, should be free to choose whether to wear hijab, ghoonghat or anything else.
