Hill states fruit production falling due to climate change: Study

As per Climate Trends' study, fruit production in hill states is falling due to climate change. The area under fruit cultivation in Uttarakhand has decreased by 54%, with total fruit yields dropping by 44%. Fruits like mango, litchi and guava have been particularly affected. Extreme heat is causing increased cases of sunburn, fruit cracking and fungal infections, as per experts.
