Himachal Budget cut by ₹3,586 cr, salaries of CM, MLAs to be deferred by 6 months
Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh's 2026-27 Budget has been reduced by ₹3,586 crore after the Centre withdrew the Revenue Deficit Grant, causing the state an annual loss of ₹8,000 crore. Additionally, 50% of CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu's salary will be deferred for six months. Ministers, MLAs, senior bureaucrats, the police force, and other officials will also have 20-30% of their salaries deferred.
