Himachal professor turns pine cones into clean industrial fuel

A physics professor at Shoolini University, Himachal Pradesh, has identified a technique to convert fallen pine cones into high-carbon industrial fuel. Dr Itika Kainthla, who developed this low-cost and eco-friendly innovation, said it could reduce reliance on fossil fuels and lower industrial carbon emissions while also producing styrene, a chemical used in plastics, synthetic rubber and resins.
