Himachal to raise loan of ₹1,000 cr, total debt crosses ₹1 lakh cr

The Himachal Pradesh government has initiated the process to raise ₹1,000 crore by auctioning government securities, according to multiple reports. The Congress-led government has already exhausted its initial ₹7,200 crore borrowing limit for the current financial year (2025-26), with the total debt crossing ₹1 lakh crore. The new loan has a 15-year tenure with interest payable twice a year.
