Hindi unites, not competes with regional languages: Shinde

Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, at Hindi Diwas 2026 in Navi Mumbai, said Hindi is a companion to regional languages, not a competitor. Speaking alongside Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he stressed Hindi's expansion must preserve regional languages, urged its use in science, judiciary, and administration, and praised PM Modi's push for Hindi in governance.
