Hindu population fell by 8%, Muslim population rose by 43% during 1950-2015: EAC-PM

A working paper of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) said that Hindus' share in the Indian population decreased by 7.82% from 84.68% to 78.06% between 1950 and 2015. Muslims' population increased by 43.15% from 9.84% to 14.09% during the same period, the study said. Share of all religious minorities, except Parsis and Jains rose to 6.58%.
