Hindustan Aeronautics becomes 14th PSU to get 'Maharatna' status

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has been granted the 'Maharatna' central public sector enterprise (CPSE) status. It has become India's 14th 'Maharatna' public sector undertaking, joining BHEL, BPCL, Coal India, GAIL, HPCL, Indian Oil, NTPC, ONGC, Power Grid, SAIL, Oil India, REC and PFC. HAL's annual turnover was ₹28,162 crore and net profit was ₹7,595 crore in FY 2023-24.
