Historic step for women's empowerment: PM Modi ahead of special session of Parliament

Ahead of special session of Parliament, PM Narendra Modi said India is set to take a historic step towards women's empowerment. “Respect for our mothers and sisters is the respect for the nation,” he said, while also invoking a Sanskrit verse. The government is set to introduce a bill for 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies.
