HIV patient at UK detention centre denied 'life-saving' medication

An HIV patient who was awaiting deportation to Jamaica is being denied "life-saving" medication at Colnbrook Immigration Centre, The Independent reported. Staff at the centre have reduced the 42-year-old's medicines which he relies on daily to manage his condition and other ailments. The man also has a heroin addiction and regularly needs to take methadone to manage withdrawal symptoms.
