HIV spreads via premarital/extramarital sex: Kerala Class 10 book

The 2016 edition of Kerala State Syllabus Class 10 Biology textbook states that HIV spreads through "premarital/extramarital sexual contact". A General Medicine practitioner from Kerala questioned the text and asked, "How does the virus know whether the couple is married or not?" The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) said measures were taken to make the necessary changes.
