Hockey coach Baldev Singh, who mentored 80 international players, awarded Padma Shri

Hockey coach Baldev Singh, who mentored over 80 international players, including eight India captains, was honoured with the Padma Shri on Monday for his contribution to sports. He played a key role in turning Shahabad Markanda in Haryana into a hockey nursery. Ex-India men's hockey team captain Sandeep Singh and ex-women's hockey team captain Rani have emerged from his academy.
