Hockey India rewards women's team with ₹50 lakh after best WC finish in 52 yrs

Hockey India on Friday announced a cash reward of ₹50 lakh for the Indian women's team in recognition of their fifth-place finish at the Women's Hockey World Cup 2026. The Salima Tete-led side defeated Germany 3-1 in the 5th/6th place classification match on Thursday. This marked India's best finish at the tournament since they finished fourth in 1974.
