Homosexuality not a crime in India anymore: SC on Section 377

The Supreme Court on Thursday scrapped parts of Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the 1862 law which criminalised homosexuality. The Delhi High Court had decriminalised homosexuality in 2009, but the decision was overturned by Supreme Court in 2013. "Section 377 is irrational, indefensible and manifestly arbitrary," said Chief Justice of India Dipak Misra.
