Honeybees can count up to six, understand concept of zero: Study

A new study found honeybees have "numerical cognition" up to six and can understand the concept of zero. It said earlier research underestimated bees' ability to distinguish numbers by not accounting for their unique sensory and perceptual systems. The researchers used modelling and statistical analysis based on bees' visual capacity to better understand how they perceive the world.
