Hong Kong government announces buyout for housing fire victims

Hong Kong authorities have announced a compensation buyout plan for victims of the deadly fire at Wang Fuk Court. The government will spend up to $870 million to acquire property titles, provide housing options and demolish severely damaged buildings. The damaged buildings are expected to be demolished.
