Hong Kong university dismantles, removes Tiananmen massacre statue

A statue at the University of Hong Kong marking the Tiananmen Square massacre was dismantled and removed from its campus site on Thursday. The eight-metre tall statue, known as "Pillar of Shame", showed piled-up corpses to commemorate pro-democracy protesters killed by Chinese authorities in 1989. The dismantling comes days after pro-Beijing candidates won Hong Kong's legislative elections.
