Hope he uses it to reflect: Salman Rushdie on attacker's sentence

Indian-born British-American novelist Salman Rushdie said he was pleased that a New York court gave his attacker Hadi Matar a 25-year sentence. "I was pleased that he got the maximum available (jail time), and I hope he uses it to reflect upon his deeds," Rushdie said. Matar attempted to murder Rushdie in 2022, leaving him blind in one eye.
