Hospital stocks fall 2% as govt panel recommends cap on room rent

Shares of hospital operators fell over 2% on Tuesday after the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Health and Family Welfare recommended capping hospital room rents at three-star hotel rates. Apollo Hospitals shares fell 2.8% to touch an intraday low of ₹8,676, while Max Healthcare shares declined 2.6% on BSE. The shares of Fortis Healthcare also dipped 2.43%.
