WH event shooting took place at same hotel outside which Reagan was shot 45 years ago

The Washington Hilton in Washington, from where US President Donald Trump was rushed out after shots were fired at White House Correspondents' Dinner, is the same hotel outside which ex-US President Ronald Reagan was shot on March 30, 1981. John Hinckley Jr fired six shots at Reagan, with one bullet striking him in the chest. Reagan had survived the attack.
