Houthis made AI deepfake of Yemeni commander to trick forces to retreat & capture coast: Report

Houthi rebels, who captured the Yemeni coast along the Bab el-Mandab Strait, were able to capture the region so easily by using AI, Aljoumhouriya TV reported. Houthis circulated an audio recording resembling Yemeni Lieutenant General Tareq Saleh's voice, telling his Saudi-backed forces to retreat and to "confuse soldiers and weaken their morale". However, the report called it a "failed attempt".
