Houthis threaten to block Bab el-Mandeb Strait to aid Iran against US

Following the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, the Houthis have signalled support for Iran amid the Middle East war. The Iran-aligned militant group has threatened to block the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, a key route in Asia-Europe trade, which controls traffic for ships accessing the Suez Canal. Both the straits carry roughly 30% of the world's oil and major trade.
