How did a man survive 8 days beneath earthquake rubble in Venezuela?

A security guard was rescued alive from rubble of a building eight days after powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela. He was inside a concrete booth in a basement parking area when the quake hit. The booth remained intact, shielding him from collapsing debris and creating an air pocket, while rescuers supplied him with food and water as they excavated the rubble.
