How active fish nets and plastic waste are choking our oceans

Researchers from Karnatak University, Dharwad, used geographic mapping software and kernel density analysis to pinpoint marine mammal mortality hotspots along Karnataka's 343-km coastline. They discovered a dense cluster of incidents in the southern districts of Udupi and Dakshina Kannada, where nutrient-rich shallow waters overlap heavily with commercial fishing by humans.
