How are HUF assets divided after a family member’s death?

When a family member (father) who has a share in the Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) dies, their portion is treated as separated from the family property. If there is no will, this share is passed on equally to their legal heirs. However, the exact share of each member is decided only when the family formally divides the HUF assets.
