How are restaurants passing rising costs to customers?
Rising food, LPG and labour costs are squeezing restaurant margins, forcing operators to consider price hikes, smaller portions or menu changes. Retail food inflation rose to 7.74% in September from 5.97% in August. Restaurant owners told Moneycontrol that input costs have climbed 15-25% in recent months due to higher expenses on ingredients, packaging, utilities and labour.
