How can people know if a thunderstorm is approaching their location?

The IMD said people can know if a thunderstorm is approaching their location when they feel a rush of cool air towards them and see huge, greyish-black, tall, cylindrical, cauliflower-like clouds in sky. Other signs are thunder sound and lightning. Hair standing up on the back of people's neck could indicate lightning is imminent very close to them, IMD added.
