How Diane Crump became first female jockey in the US

Despite boycotts, hecklers and a dubious society, on Feb 7, 1969, Diane Crump became the first woman jockey to ride in an American pari-mutuel race at a major thoroughbred track. In 1970, at the age of 21, she became the first woman to ride in the Kentucky Derby. Read about her story here.
