More than 400 AI applications with hidden features for creating sexual and violent deepfakes were found across Apple's App Store, Google Play Store and other platforms. An investigation found that the apps allowed users to upload photos and create abusive content to humiliate or threaten victims. Some had remained available for a year despite violating platform policies.
