Five-time world champion Viswanathan Anand's PBG Alaskan Knights lost 8-12 to Ganges Grandmasters at the Global Chess League 2026. With the Knights trailing 8-9, Abhimanyu Mishra was close to winning his game, which would have given them a 12-9 victory. However, under time pressure, Mishra made an illegal move. With effectively one second remaining, Mishra lost the game.
