How did CISF save dozens of lives after speedboat-ferry collision?

CISF patrol boat 'Shera 1' rescued 35 passengers of the ferry that sank after a Navy speedboat crashed into it. A CISF officer on the patrol boat said the initial passengers were saved within minutes as they were nearby when the crash occurred. They then sent SOS to other agencies for larger rescue operation, saving around 72 lives in total.
