How did Cyclone Dana get its name and what is its meaning?

World Meteorological Organization is responsible for maintaining list of names for tropical cyclones globally. It uses a predetermined list of names, which are assigned alphabetically and rotate every six years. The name 'Dana' was contributed by Qatar and it has multiple derivations. Dana in Arabic means "the most perfectly sized, valuable and beautiful pearl", as per Arabic calligraphy names.
