Iran's Khamenei, killed on Saturday, once survived assassination attempt on Saturday in 1981

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in US and Israeli strikes on Saturday, had once survived an assassination attempt. On June 27, 1981 (Saturday), a bomb hidden inside a tape recorder by a militant opposition group exploded during his speech at a mosque. Khamenei suffered severe injuries and his right arm was permanently paralysed in the incident.
