How did Israel use Iranian traffic cameras to track and kill Supreme Leader Khamenei?

Israel spent years hacking Iran's traffic cameras and mobile phone networks to monitor movements of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei before killing him, FT reported. Footage from the cameras was encrypted and transmitted to Israel. One particular camera angle was described as especially valuable, as it helped determine where bodyguards parked vehicles and offered insight into daily routines.
