How did TMC get votes in Falta even after its candidate Jahangir backed out 2 days before voting?

TMC candidate Jahangir Khan, who called himself 'Pushpa', pulled out of Falta repoll just two days before May 21 voting. However, despite his withdrawal, his name couldn't be removed from EVMs as the Election Commission's deadline for withdrawal had already passed. Any vote cast in his favour remained valid and had to be counted. He got just around 6,000 votes.
