How do fraudsters scam people through Google's Firebase accounts?

Indian government asked Google to shut down hundreds of accounts on its Firebase platform after detecting criminal misuse. Firebase scams involve fraudsters hosting fake banking websites or malicious apps that impersonate banks such as SBI. Victims are lured with fake credit cards, rewards or limit increases and tricked into sharing financial details, OTPs or downloading malware, enabling fraud.
