How fake joining letters, payments fooled job seekers across India

The ED conducted searches at 15 locations across six states in a fake government job scam. An organised gang sent forged joining letters using fake government emails and even paid salaries to gain trust. The scam began with the Railways and later spread to over 40 government departments. According to officials, evidence is being analysed and a money laundering probe is underway.
