Researchers from NRSC-ISRO and VIT-AP University have identified an ecological crisis at Sambhar Lake through over 40 years of satellite data analysis. Natural water levels are declining as artificial salt-mining pans are increasing, and algal blooms rapidly expand. This acts as a threat to the critical habitat that supports thousands of migratory flamingos.
