Two Bangladeshi media houses - Bangladeshi Ittefaq and Bangladesh Pratidin - reported the BJP's lead over the TMC in West Bengal. Notably, the illegal immigration of Bangladeshis into Bengal was a major flashpoint between BJP and TMC. During campaigning, both PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah had assured that infiltrators would be rooted out.
