How long can raw chicken, fish, mutton stay in fridge?
Refrigeration slows spoilage but doesn't keep raw meat fresh indefinitely. Chicken should be cooked within 1-2 days, mutton within 3-5 days, and fish ideally the same day or within 24 hours. Freeze meat for longer storage and discard it if it develops a foul smell, slimy texture, or unusual colour to avoid foodborne illnesses.
