India have won 155 gold medals in Asian Games history. Their best gold medal tally in Asiad came in the 2018 edition in Jakarta, where they bagged 16 gold medals. Their second best tally (15) came in 1951 in Delhi in the inaugural Asian Games. India have bagged 10 or more gold medals in each of the previous five editions.
