How many people have died due to heat in India since 2018?

According to data from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), 890 people died due to heat/sunstroke in India in 2018. This was followed by 1,274 deaths in 2019. A total of 530 people died in 2020, 374 in 2021, and 730 in 2022. As many as 804 deaths were reported in 2023, bringing the total in six years to 4,602.
